Michigan received 83,029 applications for freshman admission in 2021-22 and admitted 16,235 applicants with an acceptance rate of 18.2%. That's lower than the score for the Class of 2024, which admitted 16,974 applicants from a pool of 65,021 applicants, an acceptance rate of 26 percent.

Sanders said the drop was directly due to the uncertainty caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. The university also saw a 5 percent drop in international student enrollments.

In a year marked by a global pandemic, national recession and international travel restrictions, student enrollment at the University of Michigan increased slightly this fall compared to last fall, from 31,266 to 31,329.

Before 2019, the number of applications had more than doubled in the past decade, with the growth largely due to the adoption of the common application, which makes it easier for students to apply to multiple schools.

Despite the challenges, low-income students across the state continue to respond to recruiting and messaging efforts related to the Go Blue Guarantee. Nearly one-fifth of students come from families earning less than $65,000, and 86 percent of them do not pay tuition due to institutional support.

The guarantee, now in its third year, includes a pledge to provide free education to in-state students with household incomes less than $65,000 and total assets less than $50,000.

The University of Michigan is located in Ann Arbor, Michigan, a young cultural city that is consistently ranked as one of the bestBest places to live in AmericaSince the university and Ann Arbor began to develop at the same time, the campus is highly integrated with the city, and classrooms and dormitories are often located across the street from local restaurants and shops.

The university consists of four campuses: Central Campus, North Campus, South Campus, and Medical Campus. The Central Campus is the heart of the university, with the iconic diag at its center. diag is home to the famous M Block (never set foot on it unless you want to pass your first blue book exam), as well as the Hatcher Graduate Library and the Shapiro Undergraduate Library (affectionately known as "ugli").

Campus Zuid is connected to the Central Ring and has other sports facilities in addition to the famous Big House Stadium. The North Campus is separated from the rest of the university by the Huron River, and students can take the bus system to the North Campus. The North Campus, which is more wooded than the rest of the university, is home to the School of Engineering, the School of Music, Drama and Dance, the Staples School of the Arts, as well as several residence halls and the beautiful Lurie Bell Tower.

Your GPA isn't the only number to worry about, you need it tooACT of SATtest. The median ACT score for the 2019 incoming class was 32-35, while the median SAT score was 1380-1540. The University of Michigan does not require you to submit SAT Subject Test scores, giving you plenty of time to focus on other tests. If you include your test results, the admissions office will consider them if they are helpful to your application. If you have taken the subject tests and scored well, go ahead and add the score, but know that it will not significantly affect your admission rank. U-M claims that low scores won't affect your admissions, but if you have a score you're not particularly proud of, I'd suggest not submitting it.

During my time in Michigan, I rarely met a student who wasn't involved in at least one club, and often found people who met their best friends through their organization!
